Appellant, Kirk Douglas Aiken, was charged with first-degree rape, two counts of armed robbery, two counts of use of a handgun in commission of a felony, and related charges. A jury, sitting in the Circuit Court for Prince Georges County (Missouri, J., presiding), found him guilty of all charges. On November 18, 1993, appellant received sentences totaling life plus thirty-five years for the convictions of first-degree rape, two counts of armed robbery, and two counts of use of a handgun in commission of a felony. The remaining convictions were merged for purposes of sentencing.
